The Pacific Time zone runs through Pacific Coast of Canada and US. It is also known as North American Pacific Standard Time (NAPST). The Pacific Standard Time (PST) is also known as Pacific Coast Time or West Coast Time. It is called Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) EDT is UTC-4. During daylight saving period in summer, ET is 4 hours behind the UTC time. The eastern part of US, Ontario, Quebec, and East central Nunavut in Canada, and some countries in Central America are part of the Eastern Time zone. EST and EDT are the specific terms used when standard time and daylight saving time are observed respectively. Eastern Time Zone (ETZ) is the generic name for this time zone in the United States of America and Canada. The Eastern Time (ET) or Eastern Standard Time (EST) is also known as North American Eastern Standard Time. More information about the two time zones will be discussed in this article. However, the time difference between Pacific Time and Eastern Time remains same even during daylight saving period. One hour is adjusted from these times during the daylight saving period. The Eastern Standard Time (EST) is calculated by subtracting 5 hours from UTC. The Pacific Standard Time (PST) is calculated by subtracting 8 hours from UTC.
